Privacy Policy
Idle Curiosity is a daily feed of surprising facts. We built it to need as little of your information as possible. There is no account, and we never ask for your name, email, phone number, or contacts.
What we store
- An anonymous ID.When you first open the app, we generate a random identifier for your device. It is not linked to your real-world identity. We use it only to make the app work — to remember your streak, your saved and liked facts, which facts you've already seen, and your daily receipt.
- A push token (only if you opt in).If you turn on daily notifications, your device gives us a push token so we can send the "today's drop is ready" alert. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings; the token is deleted when it stops working.
What we do not do
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers.
- We do not collect location, contacts, photos, or health data.
Where it lives
The anonymous ID and the activity tied to it are stored on our hosting provider (Railway) in a Postgres database, protected in transit by standard HTTPS encryption. Facts are generated with the Anthropic API; your personal activity is never sent to it.
Deleting your data
Because there's no account, the simplest way to clear your data is to delete the app (which removes the anonymous ID from your device). You can also email us at amsiegs@gmail.com and we'll delete the records associated with your device ID on request.
Children
Idle Curiosity is rated 4+ and contains general-knowledge facts, but it is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes & contact
